Gracy
Hello ! i'm
MEET THE FOUNDER
I’m a Filipina-American Art Instructor & Creative Coordinator born & raised in the Bay Area Peninsula.
MY WORK
I’ve coordinated/led experiences for corporate teams including
YouTube, Meta, Genentech, Walmart, DoubleFine, and more
as well as private and community programming for small groups and intimate gatherings.
I’ve also provided 1:1 instruction in graphic design and fine art.
MY PASSION
Growing up in a culture where choosing a creative path felt risky, I found inspiration in other Asian-American artists navigating identity and belonging. Claiming “artist” became my way of embracing curiosity, and lifelong creative growth. It has fueled my commitment to art, and my desire to create experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.
My focus is on creating approachable spaces that encourage community building and a relaxed atmosphere for all types of people through art, cultures, and shared experiences, with no pressure to who you are, what you do, or where you're from.
About Us & Our Purpose Pledge
What is Inkling
Inkling (formerly New Wave SF) began as an extension of my work as an artist: an art club centered around bringing people together through shared hobbies. What started as small, collaborative gatherings with local art clubs has grown into a flexible, mobile creative platform, or a “creative ecosystem,” focused on designing and hosting experiences across different spaces, while also uplifting and amplifying local creative voices.
What we do
In 2025, as New Wave, we connected with various small artists, cafes, and venues across San Francisco and the Peninsula, hosting curated art galleries, fundraisers, creative socials, and collaborations, while highlighting the vendors and volunteers within our local communities. We met so many people, with some of them evolving into more established organizations and identities. It was incredibly inspiring, and I knew I wanted to continue finding ways to support and invest in our creative communities. But as fulfilling as this was, sustaining it revealed deeper challenges.
What Inspires Us
Many creatives today are facing the same struggles with resources, time, and energy. Although the vision of the collective was to bring together our shared power, I realized how difficult that becomes within the societal and financial pressures artists are navigating today. I also began to recognize that many spaces created for artists are not actually built or led by artists themselves, something I experienced firsthand. With all that in mind, after 2025 I to returned to the drawing board and redid my approach, without losing our core value: prioritizing our local communities and the art that fills them.
How We Do It
That reflection led to our rebrand as Inkling Studio. We’ve shifted toward a more sustainable, artist-led approach that values slow and meaningful impact, connection, and community care over constant growth. Rather than operating out of a permanent venue, Inkling functions as a mobile creative platform, collaborating with local spaces, businesses, and communities to host workshops, creative experiences, and community-centered programming across the Bay Area.
Transparency
Alongside public events, we also take on private and commissioned projects that help keep the platform running and allow us to continue reinvesting into future gatherings, collaborations, and creative opportunities. At its core, Inkling is still about creating opportunities for people to make things together, share ideas, and feel connected to their local creative community.
